Toshiba, the Japanese computer and flat screen TV maker, is planning to unveil its newest version of the tablet at the CES this week in Las Vegas. The device is tentatively known as the Toshiba Tablet, and offers a 10.1 inch touch screen, slightly larger than the 9.7 inch offered on the iPad. The new tablet is set to run off of an Android version known as Honeycomb.

The Toshiba Tablet is expected to be released around June of this year. While a price has not been announced, it is expected to be competitive with the iPad. Apple’s iPad ranges between $499 and $829 depending upon memory and other capabilities.

In addition  to having 1080 p video playback, the tablet will offer a HDMI port that will allow it to connect to a HDTV. The iPad also lacks support for Flash content, while the Toshiba Tablet will have full Flash support. The tablet will also have front and rear facing cameras so that it can enable video chat .  More details will be available after the CES this week.
